Leyla is a 1 year old spayed black and tan colored Australian Cattle Dog/Hound mix who has been at the shelter since the beginning of February. She is housebroken, who loves to play fetch and chew on rubber chew toys. She gets a little too excited when playing with younger kids (she tends to knock them down), so she is better off being in a home with older kids who can handle her. Leyla has never lived with other animals, but has done very well with her kennel mates, so please make sure to bring your other pets down to the Humane Society to meet her before you take her home. Leyla is also kennel trained, knows the commands "sit" "lay" and "leave it"; she would make a great dog for any family! She does seem to have a fear of lightning, so she may go hide somewhere or want to snuggle up extra close to you during a storm. Come on down to the shelter and meet Leyla! Let her show you how loving and faithful she is!
Billy is a 7 month old Neutered black and white Curly Coat Retriever/ Lab Retriever mix who has been at the Humane Society since the beginning of February. There is not a lot that I can tell you about Billy because he was a transfer from another shelter, and no information was given about him. The time that I did spend with Billy while I was taking his pictures was a very fun time and he was a very sweet puppy. He loves to play with toys and play fetch; it seemed like he didn't quite understand the concept of fetch (he would bring the ball back, and then runaway with it again). I had 3 different tennis balls with me so that I could throw one, and when he came back and wouldn't give that one back to me, I had another to throw for him. He seemed to really enjoy running and playing outside. Please come down and meet Billy for yourself, spend some time with him, and see if his personality clicks with yours.
Bubby is a neutered Black Labrador Retriever/ Boxer mix and is a year and a half old. Unfortunately, I don't have very much information on Bubby; he was brought to the Humane Society because he was too hyper for his previous family, and he has been here with us since the beginning of February. He did seem to be very energetic when I was with him, and I don't think he had very much training with his previous family. He absolutely LOVES to play and just be with people, he doesn't understand how to fetch, but he loves to play tug-a-war with the rope :) It seemed like Bubby wanted to play with the other dogs that were next door where him and I were playing, so if you have another dog in your family, please bring your dog down to the Humane Society to meet Bubby before you take him home with you. Just because we don't have a lot of information on Bubby doesn't mean he is not a great dog, he just needs a family who will take the time to get to know him, who will be patient with him, and who will love him.
Timber is an 11 month old spayed Labrador Retriever Mix who has been at the Humane Society since the beginning of February. Her previous family brought her to us because they didn't have time for her. She has such a fun personality and just loves to play and jump around, Timber needs a family who has an active lifestyle who will take her on runs and hikes. Timber seems to want to make a special bond with someone, she was very fond of the volunteer who was helping me take her pictures, and Timber just wanted to be around her. Timber will make a very wonderful, loving, and faithful member of your family; come on down to the shelter and meet her!
