Featured Pets of the Week!

Spider is a 4 year old white and black Aussie Shepherd mix. He is a very smart dog, but does not do well with small children or with cats; he does get along with other dogs.  Spider's former owner did not take the time to housebreak him so he needs someone who will take the time the train him, he will learn quickly! Spider is an active dog, so he will need to be with a family who will exercise him everyday.

Baxter is a 7 year old male neutered Newfoundland mix. Was an outside only dog, so he needs someone who is willing to work with him and someone who is willing to let him come inside. This is a big dog so he will need a big space to be in. Baxter is a very gentle and affectionate dog who loves to be pet and touched; he is just a big teddy bear! He is good with kids and with other dogs, but he is not good with cats. His owners gave him up because they were getting divorced.

Onyx is a 2 year old female spay Greyhound mix. Not much is known about her, but she is housebroken, good with kids and with other dogs; she is not very good with cats. She is a very nice, sweet girl who loves to run and play fetch. Onyx is a very active dog, so she will need a family who is willing to exercise her everyday. She does get very hyper around small kids because she has so much energy, so she would fit in better with a family that has kids who can handle her energy.

Rosie is a 2 years old Domestic Shorthair Spay Brown Tabby. She is very sweet, loves to be held, and is good with kids.

Welcome to the Official Blog of the Humane Society of Utah

Thank you for taking the time to look at our new blog for the Humane Society of Utah! Our goal is to give every animal brought into our shelter a chance at having a forever home. Every week there will be a different selection of pets being featured for you to see; video clips will be posted along with pictures and the stories of the pets.

If you, or anyone you know, are thinking about making an addition to your family, please check out this blog for featured pets, our Facebook page for adoption events, and our website www.UtahHumane.org for pets waiting for their chance to be a part of your family.
